Marshalling Yard and Direct Deliveries Information
Marshaling Yard will be established to ease congestion in the vicinity of the facility and to better utilize the available dock space at the convention center.
Marshaling Yard Site Address
500 Memorial Dr.
Dallas, TX 75207
United States of America
It is important that you advise your carrier of this Marshaling Yard information to better facilitate your direct shipment to show site.
The Marshaling Yard process is as follows:
• All delivering carriers and privately owned vehicles must check in at the Marshaling Yard prior to show site deliveries.
• All inbound shipments will be weighed at the Marshaling Yard to obtain the gross or heavy weight.
SHIPPING TO VERTICON 2025
• All inbound shipments must be accompanied by a certified weight certificate and Bill of Lading.
• At the Marshaling Yard, drivers will be assigned a number and will be dispatched to the appropriate dock as space is available. Waiting time at the Marshaling Yard should be anticipated by your carrier. Every effort is made to keep this waiting time at a minimum. However, the waiting time depends on many factors, including the number of vehicles arriving to unload/load, the type of loads being unloaded, the number of booths on a truck, etc.
• After unloading, all vehicles must return to the Marshaling Yard with a completed copy of the GES Receiving Report to be weighed to obtain the light weight. This determines the total weight of your shipment. Drivers who fail to return to weigh-out may face having their shipment billed at the heavy weight.
• All drivers are expected to adhere to GES' policies and procedures with respect to the loading and unloading of trailers.
Material Handling
This is the unloading of your shipment from your carrier, transporting it to your booth, storing and returning your empty crates and cartons and reloading your shipment at the close of the show. Save time and avoid unexpected costs at show site by pre-ordering this service through GES.
Handling charges are based on the weight of the freight. Shipments are billed by the hundred weight and rounded up to the nearest hundred. Minimum per shipment may apply, see Material Handling/Drayage for details. Please prepay all shipping charges - GES cannot accept or be responsible for collect shipments. Crated and uncrated shipments must be separated and clearly identified on separate bills of lading with separate weight tickets - otherwise GES will invoice the entire load at the uncrated rate.
• Crated - Material that is skidded or is in any type of shipping container that can be unloaded at the dock with no additional handling required.
• Uncrated - Material that is shipped loose or pad-wrapped, and/or un-skidded machinery without proper lifting bars or hooks.
• Special Handling - Defined as shipments that are loaded by cubic space and/or packed in such a manner as to require special handling, such as ground loading, side door loading, constricted space loading and designated piece loading or stacked shipments. Also included are mixed shipments and shipments without proper delivery receipts.
Labor and equipment for uncrating, un-skidding, positioning, leveling, dismantling, re-crating, and re-skidding machinery and/or equipment must be ordered separately. Place your order for this labor using In-Booth Forklift Labor.
Hand Carry Information
Material that can be hand carried by only one person through the main entrance of the convention center during move-in and move-out that weighs less than 200 lbs.
Exhibitors may hand carry materials provided they do not use material handling equipment (see restrictions below) to assist them.
When exhibitors choose to hand carry material, they do not have permission to access the loading dock or freight doors.
Restrictions
The following items are prohibited and can not be used to transport ANY hand carry material by an exhibitor
Four-wheel dollies
Two-wheel dollies
Four-wheel push carts
SHIPPING TO VERTICON 2025
Shipping/Privately Owned Vehicles (cars, pickup trucks): is not an automatic process. If you plan to use a carrier other than GES Logistics, then you are responsible for making arrangements with that carrier. In the event that your designated carrier refuses to accept shipments or fails to pick up by the deadline, GES will have to re-route the shipment. No liability will be assumed by GES as a result of such re-routing or handling.
Storing Empty Containers
Properly labeled empty shipping cartons will be picked up, stored and returned on March 11 starting at 5:00 pm. Labels are available at the GES Service Desk and are for empty storage only.
After emptying crates, place empty labels on all sides of your crates and cases. Remember to remove old empty labels. Additionally, the empty labels are sometimes color coded, so make sure you get the correct color and be sure your booth number is on each label.
Outgoing Shipments
AMC has a pre-approved break down period from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
On Tuesday, exhibitors should fill out a Bill of Lading (BOL) with their outgoing shipment details. These forms are available at the GES Service Center. Exhibitors selecting non-official carriers will need to make their own arrangements for pick-up. Once your shipment is packed and ready to be picked up, please return the BOL to the GES Service Center.
Verify the piece count, weight, and that the signature is on the form prior to shipping out.
